The Rogue Climate Cinema Project is hosting another FREE film screening on Thursday, May 5th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Rogue Climate Office. Rogue Climate Cinema Project is a series of film screenings about climate justice, hosted in collaboration with Working Films. This screening will be showing the film We Still Here. There will also be a panel discussion with Clima rebelde about community organizing and disaster relief efforts in the Rogue Valley.
We Still Here: We Still Here introduces the incredible youth of Comerío, Puerto Rico navigating the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, a disaster that brought an unprecedented level of devastation. In the lush mountains in the center of Puerto Rico, 24-year-old Mariangelie Ortiz leads a group of young residents who never thought they would become the leaders of their community, nonetheless find themselves traveling to Washington D.C. to protest in the halls of Congress. Follow them in this coming of age story to find their power and begin creating a sustainable future for themselves and their community.
About the Rogue Climate’s Cinema Project: This film series is an opportunity for a broader and deeper connection within the community by starting conversation around critical issues to builds toward meaningful collective action.
