Floating Offshore Wind Energy Community Conversations

South Coast community voices need to be heard early on in the floating offshore wind energy development process. The South Coast region has been identified as a possible location for floating offshore wind development due to its high winds and potential to generate renewable energy.
Rogue Climate is hosting a series of Community Conversations on Floating Offshore Wind Energy throughout Coos County to bring together community voices to help identify priorities that must be advocated for throughout the process.
Dates for Community Conversations on Floating Offshore Wind Energy:
- Charleston: Monday, September 12 at 6:00PM-8:00PM at the Sea Basket Restaurant (63502 Kingfisher Road in the Charleston Marina)
- North Bend: Wednesday, September 28 at 6:00PM-8:00PM at the North Bend Public Library (1800 Sherman Ave, North Bend)
- Coos Bay: Wednesday, October 5 at 6:00PM-8:00PM at Southwestern Oregon Community College- Empire Hall Lakeview Room E & F (1988 Newmark Ave, Coos Bay)
These Community Conversations are just the beginning of building a dialogue to uplift community priorities and standards that can be used for evaluating potential development projects.
