UPDATE FROM ROGUE CLIMATE
We’re sad to share the news that the Rogue Climate offices, which we shared with the Rogue Action Center, burned down in the recent Almeda fires.
Our staff are all safe. Many volunteers and community members have lost their homes and many are currently evacuated. We are actively working to check in on volunteers’ and community members’ families. We’re also checking in with our community members affected by the Four Two Four fire near Chiloquin and those impacted by the growing Slater fire in Northern California.
Our offices were a place to work together, to plan and dream, to laugh, to share coffee or tacos. But ultimately, our home isn’t our office; our home is our community.
At the moment, we are focusing on helping our community in the Rogue Valley. We are working with multiple community partners to bring supplies to people affected by these terrible fires. If you are looking for support at this time, please check out this spreadsheet tracking local resources and needs.
Climate change is real and is a contributory factor to the intense fire season we are seeing this summer. As always, we will fight together for climate justice, and for a healthy, safe, green Southern Oregon. Today we do this by delivering supplies to those harmed by this fire. Tomorrow we will do it by building a new world together.
Like the phoenix, we will rise from the ashes.
Thanks,
The Rogue Climate Team
