Winter 2026 Community Organizing Youth Internship – Rogue Valley
January 16th – March 13th, 2026

Rogue Climate and Rogue Action Center (RAC) are hosting a winter Community Organizing Youth Internship open to all youth ages 14 – 28 located in the Rogue Valley.

Apply by December 5, 2025 for the opportunity to attend weekly workshops, learn hands-on community organizing skills, and join local campaigns for climate and social justice.

Participants will recieve a $500 stipend upon completion of the program.

This program runs every Friday from 5:00PM – 7:30PM from January 16th-March 13th, 2026. Workshops will include Community Organizing 101, Climate Justice, Power, Privilege and Oppression, Campaign Planning and more. Interns will also participate in a project group. No prior experience is necessary, and interns will recieve a stipend for their participation.

Please note that this internship is limited to 12 participants. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and early applications are encouraged. Once you submit we will follow up to schedule an interview as soon as possible. Accepted applicants will be informed by January 7th.

 

Program Requirements:

  • Interns will commit to participating in the full program from January 16 – March 13.
  • Hours: Interns will commit to working with Rogue Climate and RAC for 3 – 5 total hours per week. Organization hours will be flexible to accommodate school and work schedules!
  • Weekly Training: 2.5 hours per week will be spent in a weekly internship workshop to learn more about community organizing, strategic planning, and social justice.
      • Attendance at all training sessions is required unless other arrangements are made.
      • Please let us know if you will miss a session so we can make accomodations.
      • Attendance of each training and work session will count towards your stipend.
      • Masks are welcome and available at indoor sessions.

Project Groups:

0.5 – 2 hours a week will be spent developing organizer skills by participating with either the Rogue Climate Action Team or Artivism with RAC. This may include: canvassing, outreach at community events, phone banking, and group or class presentations.

  • Rogue Climate Action Team (RCAT): RCAT is a group of youth working on local climate action campaigns.
  • RAC Artivism: A combination of art and activism, artivism is the use of creative and artistic methods of expression to denounce, cultivate awareness, and motivate change in socieety. Join RAC staff in exploring a variety of art skills for campaigns including zines for future internship cohorts and even the internship logo.
