Join the Rogue Climate Virtual Shindig on Thursday, November 10 from 5:30-7:00PM, PT!
From stopping fossil fuels to supporting Almeda fire survivors, Southern Oregon and South Coast communities have done incredible work over the past year. Together, our communities organized for climate justice by working towards a just transition to clean energy, increasing community resilience to the impacts of climate change, and developing the next generation of climate justice leaders. Now, it’s time to celebrate those accomplishments!
The Shindig will include three short film screenings, updates about what our communities have accomplished in 2022, and what is planned for 2023. There will be Spanish and ASL interpretation during the event. All films have both English and Spanish captions.
Uniontown: In the midst of a high-stakes local election, a group of grassroots activists in rural Alabama band together to take on big industry and complacent politicians.
How To Power A City – Highland Park: When the utility repossesses over 1,000 streetlights in Highland Park, Michigan, residents create solar-power streetlights, energy democracy trainings, and a local movement that ultimately influences state energy policy.
Peace Pipeline: Comedian-activists pose as an Indigenous fossil fuel corporation sharing plans to reroute Enbridge’s pipeline through the wealthy white suburbs of Duluth, Minnesota, to more fairly share the risks oil pipelines bring—with shocking and hilarious results.
