BIPOC Community Organizing Youth Internship
July 3 – August 28, 2025
Rogue Climate and Rogue Action Center (RAC) are hosting a Summer Youth Leadership internship open to youth ages 14 – 30 identifying as Black, Indigenous, and/or a Person of Color (BIPOC) located in the Rogue Valley.

Apply by June 2, 2025 for the opportunity to attend weekly workshops, learn hands-on community organizing skills, and join local campaigns for climate and social justice.
This program runs from July 3 – August 28, 2025, Fridays 1-3:30pm. Workshops will include Community Organizing 101, Climate Justice, Power, Privilege and Oppression, Campaign Planning and more. Interns will also participate in a project group. No prior experience is necessary, and interns will receive a stipend for their participation.
Program Requirements:
- Interns will commit to participating in the full 9 week program from July 3 through August 28, 2025
- Interns will commit to working with Rogue Climate and RAC for 3 – 5 hours a week. Some organization hours will be flexible to accommodate school and work schedules.
- Interns will be provided a stipend of $500 for the 9 week program.
- Workshops – 2.5 hours a week will be spent in a weekly Internship workshop with other interns to learn more about organizing, strategic planning, and social justice.
- 0.5 – 2 hours a week will be spent developing skills by participating in a project group that may include canvassing, outreach at community events, phone banking, art making, and more.
Weekly Workshops:
Interns will meet once a week for Internship workshop Fridays 1- 3:30pm, and once a week for a project group on either Monday or Wednesday 4:30-6pm. The workshop schedule is as follows:
- Orientation & Community Organizing 101
- Climate Justice
- Power, Privilege and Oppression
- Fire Ecology with Vesper Meadow
- Vesper Meadow trip
- Campaign Planning
- Campaign Planning part 2
- Closing Celebration
