About Rogue Climate:

Since 2013, Rogue Climate has been building a climate movement in Southern Oregon and the South Coast to achieve
solutions to climate change that will result in cleaner energy, sustainable jobs, and a healthy climate. We have also
played a lead organizing role to stop new fossil fuel infrastructure like the proposed Jordan Cove LNG fracked gas export
project, move forward local clean energy policies, and develop the next generation of climate leaders and community
organizers through our youth internship program. We are committed to working for climate solutions that result in a just
transition to clean energy that benefits rural communities, low-income communities, Latino/a/x, Black, Indigenous, and
other communities of color.

What you will do:

As the Operations Director at Rogue Climate, you will be responsible for building and maintaining rock-solid internal
infrastructure and systems to support the organization. This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Day-to-day operations: Improve, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to
provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles of Rogue Climate’s key initiatives. This includes overseeing
contracts, supporting administrative staff managing payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, and
ensuring Rogue Climate meets reporting requirements.
  • Budgeting and Fundraising: Work with the Executive Director to develop, present, and monitor the fiscal budget
and facilitate monthly Finance Committee meetings. Track emerging federal and state funding opportunities,
provide technical support on grant reporting, and work with the Executive Director to write and submit grant
    applications.
  • Human Resources: Establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment by acting as the
go-to for staff regarding human resource issues, questions, conflicts, and learning opportunities. Coordinate
hiring and onboarding processes and maintain all confidential human resource information.
Who you are and keys to success:

To be successful in this job you will be skilled in these areas

  • Inclusive leadership and experience managing people: You approach leadership with a mindset of “power with”
rather than “power over” and regularly include others in decision-making. You listen closely to understand the
needs or concerns of others and work collaboratively to devise solutions. You are comfortable supporting others
as they work through work-related interpersonal conflict.
  • Highly organized and attention detailed: You have a system for keeping tasks from slipping through the cracks.
You can track grant deadlines, financial reports, and the little things like staff’s birthdays. You notice and fix
errors that others might overlook. You acknowledge mistakes and turn them into learning opportunities.
  • Improving systems: You enjoy creating and implementing simple systems that ensure everyone has what they
need to do their job and makes it easy for people to develop new skills
If you were here right now, you would be:
  • Training our program directors on how to manage their own program budgets.
  • Streamlining our hiring and on-boarding process.
  • Conducting a database audit to ensure our information is consistent across systems.
  • Identifying and tracking Inflation Reduction Act funding opportunities.
