South Coast Youth Summer Workshop Series
June 15, 21 & 22

Rogue Climate is offering a free 2024 Youth Climate Activism Workshop Series for youth in Coos County!

This workshop series is for all youth who live on the South Coast and want to make a change in your community around environmental and social justice issues.

Participants will build skills and connections in this multi-day climate activism series. Learn about social justice issues, climate change, art activism, and build skills to make meaningful changes in your community.  You will have the opportunity to screen print your own t-shirt and make lasting memories!

This multi-day workshop series is on the following dates in Coos Bay (Location details will be provided after registration):

Youth Climate Activism Workshop: Session One
Date + Time: June 15th, 9am – 5pm
What is climate justice? How does climate change impact communities on the South Coast, and what can we do about it? This workshop will cover Climate Justice 101, Community Organizing 101, and Art and Activism. Participants will screen print a tee shirt to take home!

Youth Climate Activism Workshop: Session Two
(Note: this is a two day session)
Date + Time: June 21st and June 22nd, 9am – 5pm
Learn how to turn the skills and concepts learned in the first workshop into effective campaigns to make a difference in your community. This workshop will dive into topics on Power, Privilege and Oppression and Campaign Planning.

We strongly encourage you to attend all workshops! Participants who complete all workshops will receive a certificate of completion and a gift card to So It Goes Coffee house.

Details:
A $25 travel stipend will be provided to each participant per session (up to two sessions in total). Lunch and snacks will be provided for all three workshop days.
