Tomorrow the City of Ashland is considering extending this law despite wide-spread opposition from community members and civil rights organizations, including the ACLU.

This law puts Black, Indigenous, people of color, LGBTQ folks, undocumented people, youth, and houseless community members at greater risk of harassment and criminalization by the Ashland Police Department. You can learn more about the ordinance from the Rogue Action Center below this email. Will you send an email to the Ashland City Council to ask them to vote no to Ordinance 3198? Please email them at public-testimony@ashland.or.us and council@ashland.or.us to speak out against this unconstitutional law that does not help keep our community safe. Since the City of Ashland is not accepting verbal testimony, the Rogue Action Center is organzing a rally before the City’s online meeting tomorrow at the Plaza to show the community’s opposition to this ordinance. Can you make it?
